Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
The short version
DwellBudget is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you click a "View on Amazon" link on this site and make a purchase, we earn a small commission. You pay nothing extra. Amazon's price is the same whether you arrive via our link, a Google search or by typing the URL directly.
How this affects what you read
It doesn't — but you should know what to watch for. Two ways affiliate sites tend to compromise:
- Recommending products with higher commission rates. Amazon's commission rates are roughly the same across home improvement categories (3%), so there's no meaningful incentive to push one brand over another. We pick based on price-per-year and durability, not commission.
- Inflating prices to push you to a "cheaper" alternative that pays better. We don't do this. Prices on this site are pulled from Amazon and Home Depot listings during research and noted with a "prices updated" date. They drift over time, so always verify the current price before buying.
What we don't link to
- Products we wouldn't put in our own home.
- Products with consistently bad reviews, regardless of commission rate.
- Tools or kits that require professional install — those don't fit a budget DIY site.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided to comply with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising." Every page on this site that links to Amazon is a "paid endorsement" in the FTC's terms.
